Studio Glasfågeln is a music studio based in Törresröd, outside Lilla Edet outside of Gotheburg. We primarily work with acoustic music. We can also help you with most things in recorded sound. Recording, mixing and mastering of music. Recording and editing of audio books and podcasts. Sound to stream concerts or other things.
We can do this either in one of our premises, but we are also portable and can come to you. We can also help with simpler video recording and streaming.
We usually start by having a meeting and talking about what is to be recorded and what we have in mind about sound and recording. We can do this IRL, via phone or email. You are welcome to send previous recordings, if available. Preferably also sound references if you have them.
The Studio
The studio is in a house out in the forest between Hjärtum and Lilla Edet, with a quiet and secluded location! By car it is 50 minutes from Gothenburg, 18 minutes from Ljungskile and 12 minutes from Lilla Edet. It is not possible to get all the way there by public transport, but it is possible to arrange to be picked up the last bit if it is relevant.
The house is about 90 square meters converted into a studio in 2021. The studio consists of a larger room (about 40 square meters) and three smaller recording rooms of different sizes. There are windows between the rooms.
The house also has a kitchen and bathroom and the possibility to sleep over with 4 beds and two mattresses.
In the studio there is a nice grand piano - a Blüthner 190cm from the 30s with newly renovated mechanics, a nice upright piano - a Schimmel from the 60s in good condition. A pedal organ, K.D.Lindén from the beginning of the 20th century, and an analog synth a Korg Monilogue. A drum set, Tama Starclassic, 18"14"12" and two snares; a vintage Premier Royal Ace and a Premier Artist birch, with a set of stands (two cymbal stands) and a drum stand. There is a guitar amp, a Fender Blues Junior III.
This studio can also be rented. Both for recording but also for rehearsal periods, songwriter retreat or whatever it may be.

Rental of the studio without technicians:
Rental without accessories: SEK 1000 first day, then SEK 800/day
Rental with accessories: SEK 2,000 first day, then SEK 1,700/day

Extra night before or after recording/rental: SEK 300/night
Sheets and towels: SEK 150/person
I invoice after recording and after mix/master.
Piano tuning is added if an acoustic piano is to be used, which costs approximately SEK 2,200. The recording needs to be booked no later than a month in advance to be sure that we will find a piano tuner who can.
(If recording is booked less than a fortnight in advance, I must invoice for 20% of the cost.)
Working process
In the normal case, I have set up the recording equipment when you arrive, so that we can start soundchecking fairly immediately.
Working days are normally 8 hours per day minus 2 hours of rigging per recording, so e.g. for a two-day recording, it is 7 hours per day. End time no later than 6 p.m. When recording in Törresröd, there is usually an opportunity for you to record without me outside of these times.
If someone else is going to mix, we need to count on post-work for administration with sending files (usually 1-3h).

For post-work, I count on 6 hours of effective mixing/mastering per day.
