Biogrophy
Gustav Davidsson grew up on the countryside outside Gothenburg, Sweden, in a musical family and started making music early on. At the age of 8 he started studying classical violin, but already then he spent much time by the family grand piano improvising, composing and exploring sound. 6 years later the violin was replaced by the trombone and classical music replaced by more jazz and improvised music, but still the piano and composing followed him as a place for musically freedom alongside ambitious music studies.
Besides music, nature has always been an important part of Gustavs life, which also reflects in his music. Both audible and philosophicaly.
After high school he studied jazz and improvisation at Ljungskile folkhögskola and Fridhems folkhögskola, one of the most prominent music educations in Sweden. After that he moved to Gothenburg to be a part of the music scene there and to studie a bachelor in improvised music at the well regarded, Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg. During the years at the academy he also researched playing relaxing music, with a lot of connections to how the nature sounds.
Gustav has, since the move to Gothenburg, done countless gigs as a trombonist and pianist on some of the more notabel stages in Sweden and participated on lots of albums.
For the past ten years he has worked a lot with recording music as a sound engineer and producer. This comes from a great love of the format recorded music, the format that makes his heart beat. He has recorded many albums over the years at his own studio, Studio Glasfågeln, working mostly with acoustic music and have recorded well regarded musicians from the Nordic countries.
As a producer he has created a great amount of music over the years, both for bands he is a part of, for his solo project and for more specific projects like music for art exhibitions and video games.
Now a days he lives in Ljungskile and works mostly at his studio in the country side in Lilla Edet, recording and producing music.
